On September 29th, the Honors program kicked off the academic year with a reception held in Cascia Hall. Students, faculty, and staff mingled and enjoyed a variety of delicious hors d’oeuvres while dressed to impress. The Merrimack Honors community was also fortunate to have alumna speaker Mary Rose Mazzola ’12, who now attends Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She spoke about the impact of the Honors Program on her college years academically, professionally, and personally. She also remarked on the lasting friendships that she made and relied on as a member of the Honors community. The night ended with trivia conducted by Dr. B, a fun activity which brought teams of students together to solve brain teasers. The night set a positive tone for the remainder of the year. As in the Augustinian tradition, the gathering of friends to support and celebrate each other is what truly strengthens the Honors Program.
